Big Sky Outdoor Conference Championships

Well, track season has come to an end :(
A couple weeks ago, on May 15-16, I competed at the Big Sky Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the University of Montana in Missoula, MT. I qualified and competed in the 100m hurdles and triple jump. I ran a 14.99 in hurdles and placed 12th (I think). That was an okay time. I'm satisfied when I run under 15 seconds in the hurdles. I scratched my first 2 jumps in the triple jump by about a couple centimeters and then had to get a mark in and jumped 34'10" because I was about a foot or so behind the board. I definitely didn't like how I did in triple jump. I don't remember the last time I jumped 34 feet. Oh well. I had a really fun time and was very glad that I competed against such great athletes.
I'm really glad I decided to do track this year. Actually, I am really glad that Andrew told me to do it. I did a lot better than I thought I would. I did alright for being a walk-on, considering some people on scholarship didn't qualify for indoor or outdoor conference and I did both. I contribute all my success to my coach Jon. He knows his stuff and is a great coach. We had a lot of fun and worked really hard. We start summer training on June 29th and have to report back for track at the beginning of September.

Here's a couple of pictures from conference:

Jonas' Mission Farewell

On May 10th, Jonas had his not-so-mission farewell. He's going to Raliegh, North Carolina to serve an LDS mission for 2 years. He entered the MTC on May 13. He's going to be a great missionary. From the 2 letters he's written so far, he's grown so much. He will definitely change lives while he's there. He will be leaving for Raliegh at 4 am on Monday, June 1. Fun, fun, fun!!

Here's a couple of pictures from the open house and when President Button came to the house to set him apart.

This Time Last Year...

This time last year we were on our honeymoon!!! We went to Playa del Carmen, Mexico (near Cancun) from May 10-16. Boy, did we have a blast there. It was beautiful. We couldn't have asked for a better honeymoon! Here are a couple pictures from that adventure...

We went to Chichen Itza to see the Mayan Ruins. That was an awesome experience, except for the fact that it was nearly 120 degrees.

On the way to Chichen Itza we stopped at a cenote, a freshwater pond. It was really cool. This is Andrew diving off a huge cliff. What a man!!

We had such a great time!! In about a month we are going to drive down to Disneyland for our second big adventure!! We love traveling and spending time with each other!

Our 1st Anniversary!!!

On March 29, 2008, we were doing this...

On our first anniversary, we were doing this...

We started out by driving up to Canada and going to the Ainsworth Hot Springs. The drive up was beautiful.

On the way back home we stopped at many different random spots. This was Kettle River.

We also stayed at the family cabin for a night. We had a lot of fun!!! I'm so grateful to be married to Andrew. He's so good to me and he is such a wounderful companion. Everyday, I fall more and more in love with him. This marriage thing is really fun!!!

My 21st Birthday!!

So, I know this is late, but I need to update everyone. I am now officially an adult. I turned 21 on March 16!!! So we started out by me having no school that day, and then when Andrew came home he put roses on our coffee table and bought Snickers and placed them in the shape of a 21! It was awesome! (If you didn't understand that, refer to the picture above).

We then went to Clinkerdagger's (one of Spokane's finest restraunts) with the inlaws!! We had sooo much fun. We had a hailstorm on the way. It was crazy!

A couple days later, we had a family birthday party. My nephew Eli and Tyler, my sister-in-law Rachel and I all celebrated our birthdays. It was a lot of fun! Here's a couple pics.

March- Comes in like a lion, goes out like a lamb!

So March is by far my favorite month. With regards to the title of this post, it has snowed twice in March, but I according to the saying, it will warm up in a couple of weeks! Here are a couple of reasons why I love the month of March. First of all, on March 16th I will be turning 21! Finally an adult. One implication to turning 21 is that I have to renew my driver's license :( 25 bucks down the drain, but I do have a couple speeding tickets so it'll be good to get those erased!! The second great thing about March is Spring Break!! I have it from March 20th to March 29th; which brings me to the third, but by far the best thing about March. On March 29th Andrew and I will be celebrating our 1 year anniversary. We thought about eating the top layer of our wedding cake, but then remembered we can't because Dad Linde threw it away because he didn't know of its significance. Oh well, that one little bite on our wedding day was all we needed ;) So what we are planning to do is go up to the Ainsworth Hot Springs in Canada (only about a 4-hr drive) and spending the night there at that resort. I have uploaded a picture of the place. Andrew's parents recently went there and said it was beautiful, so we thought we'd give it a shot.

Track at Eastern Washington University

So here are a couple videos and pics of my indoor track season. I do the 60M hurdles indoors, the 100M hurdles outdoors and the triple jump all-year round. This past weekend I competed at the Big Sky Conference Indoor Championships. I had a really good time. Andrew came down with me and we got to hang out and have a little vacation. I'm in lane 5 (the person that wins!). That was one of my best races of the season. I started the indoor season running a 9.96 60M hurdle race and finished it running a 9.02, which placed me as the 3rd fastest hurdler in EWU's history. I was one-hundredth of a second off tying for second fastest. I started the year triple- jumping a 33'6" and my last jump of the indoor season was a 35'11.5. That jump placed me as 10th all-time best triple jumper at Eastern. I'm looking forward to improving my marks in the outdoor season. Our firsst outdoor meet is March 21st, so it's coming up fast.
